First, off is the Adaptive System, designed to allow quick and easy configuration of the camper’s interior.

This is due to the modular floor with grooves embedded right into the floor. These grooves hold the Adaptive cube component, which includes bench cubes, countertop cubes, cushion cubes, kitchenette cubes,s and many more.

What we like:

  • Retro style
  • Adpativ Modular System
  • Sleeps up to 5
  • Large rear door
  • 100% bonded fiberglass construction
  • Double hull insulated fiberglass shell
  • 1.5-inch super strong honeycomb fiberglass floor

You can view all the features and specifications of the Happier Camper on their website.

#2. Mantis by TAXA Outdoors

Mantix by TAXA Outdoors

The Mantis is a very unique and cool-looking travel trailer. While most travel trailers expand sideways with slideouts, the Mantis expands up, giving the occupants more space and headroom.

The Mantis has lots of interior space and comfortably seats 6. The full-size bed easily sleeps 2. It has a host of optional accessories that add to the comfort of your trip.

What we like:

  • Full interior kitchen
  • Pop-up roof
  • 6,000 BTU A/C
  • Dometic 2-burner stove
  • (2) 20 lbs propane tanks with cover
  • Full-size bed with under bed storage
  • Large 8-ft patio awning

You can view all the features and specifications of the Mantis on their website.

#3. Airstream Nest – Discontinued

Airtream Nest Exterior

Airstream’s Nest is the company’s first travel trailer with a full fiberglass body. The Nest has a very clean and modern design and lots of features; however, they do come at a price. The starting price is more than $40,000.

I wrote an article about Nest and whether or not it’s worth the hefty price tag. You can read that Nest article here.

What we like:

  • All fiberglass body construction
  • Equipped with both A/C and heating
  • Bluetooth controlled lights
  • Nice looking and functional galley
  • Modern great looking interior colors
  • Stain-resistant seating surfaces
  • Power awning

The above is just some of the features of the Airstream Nest. To view all specifications and features, visit their website.

Airstream discontinued the Nest, but it’s still a cool camper and worth it if you can find a used one at a good price.

#4. Alto R Series by Safari Condo

Alto R Series by Safari Condo

The Alto R Series by Safari Condo is a smart-looking lightweight travel trailer that is aircraft-inspired. It combines durability and aerodynamics into one very light package that can be towed with a car.

In my opinion, the coolest feature of this travel trailer is the retractable roof. It adds 18 more inches of vertical height when it is opened.

This makes the interior roomier and a bit more comfortable to move around it. This is one of my favorite cool travel trailers on this list.

What we like:

  • A seamless aluminum retractable roof
  • Tempered tinted glass crescent
  • The frame and floor are made of aluminum
  • Adjustable suspension
  • Aerodynamic 75% less drag
  • 76″ by 76″ king bed
  • Several R models to choose from include a fixed roof model.

#5. Sealander

Sealander

Talk about cool travel trailers. Right from the start, you can see the Sealander is not your typical travel trailer. It is as comfortable on dry land as it is in the water.

On land, you can tow the Sealnder with a car since it is lightweight. In the water, it can be controlled by an outboard motor just like you would a typical boat.

The Sealander is not yet available in the US, but their Facebook page says it is coming soon.

What we like:

  • It can be used on land and water
  • Glass fiber reinforced connects to a monocoque shell, which is stable and robust
  • Sealed with Gelcoat layer
  • Leather interior
  • 2300-watt cook burner
  • Swim ladder equipped
  • Unique design

To view more features, specifications, and videos of the Sealander, visit their website. (Some info is in German only)

#6. Winnebago Minie Drop

Winnebago Minie Drop

The Winnebago Minnie Drop is no stranger to our website. We did a complete write-up on this cool camper recently. Read our Minnie Drop Review.

We like this camper’s style and features. It is available in 6 different floor plans. The exterior is available in various colors and graphics.

The cool thing about this travel trailer is the shape. It makes it very aerodynamic and easy to tow. The roomy design allows for a 6’5″ headroom in the main living area. Some models come with a slide-out that adds additional living space.

What we like:

  • Aerodynamic shape
  • Easy to tow
  • A wet or dry bath is standard
  • Aluminum floor structure with plywood decking
  • Nightshades
  • Custom bedspread
  • Two burner cooktop

The Winnebago Minnie Drop is a very nice travel trailer you should consider if you are looking for a best-in-class travel trailer brand. You can check out all Winnebago models on their site right here.

#7. The Hatchling by Casual Turtle

The Hatchling By Casual Turtle

The Hatchling by Casula Turtle might just be one of our list’s best-looking cool travel trailers. This camper gets right down to basics.

No fancy high-tech materials are used in construction. Simply high-quality wood. We like the exterior wood detail. It almost looks like a log cabin on wheels.

These campers come with just the shell, so you won’t find a bed, burners, seating, etc. What you are getting is a blank slate. You can design the interior and equip it any way you desire.

What we like:

  • Lightweight at only 840 lbs (empty shell)
  • PVC membrane underside
  • Insulated floor with a maple-faced plywood floor
  • 13″ trailer-rated tires
  • A-frame tongue

This camper is not for everyone. It is a very nice-looking travel trailer; however, it does require additional setup to make it just right for you. Learn more about Casual Turtle.
