Yacht Haven Park and Marina, Fort Lauderdale

First up on our list is this Fort Lauderdale snowbird destination. Paradise awaits you at South Florida’s newly renovated Yacht Haven Park and Marina. Millions of dollars have been invested into the resort, and the results are stunning.

We had a beautiful shaded site in the campground. Full hookups, and great internet! Pool area was clean, but the plains for 2024 is a big, beautiful resort style pool. The staff is very accommodating, and keep the place spotless. Bathhouse, and laundry facilities are brand new. We stay at this resort Oct. Through Feb. 12 days a month, and stay the whole month of March.

@Ramo K, RV LIFE Campgrounds

Their 222 RV sites offer plenty of privacy and can accommodate big rigs up to 40 feet long. The upgraded sites are beautifully landscaped and have manicured lawns. Patios and pavers are located at each site, and all sites have hook-ups for 30/50 amp electric, sewer, water and fiber-optic Wi-Fi.

  • You can select from six categories of upscale RV sites.
  • Four offer waterfront views (Royal Point, Grand, Premium and Waterfront)
  • Two site types have garden views (Premium and Garden View).
See video of Yacht Haven in Fort Lauderdale.

Additional amenities include a large, heated pool with tiki huts, a gym, a playground for the kids and a dog park. For convenience, there are two bathhouses and a laundry room, all of which are climate-controlled.

Plenty of onsite activities are available, so you can busy as busy or relaxed as you wish. Play some ping pong or cornhole, rent a kayak, paddleboard or pontoon boat or just relax and read a novel from the comfort of a hammock. The marina, which really sets this resort apart, has boats available for charter. The Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean are easily accessible from the marina.

A very high end park with beautiful landscaping and generously large sites. A bit expensive, but if you are looking for a centrally located park in a marine environment, this the place to be. Roads are wide and we had no problem backing in our 45 toy hauler. The sites are all artificial turf (which looks surprisingly nice) with a nice tile deck.

@Bobalooey, RV LIFE Campgrounds

Whether you arrive by RV or yacht, you will find the concierge staff extremely helpful. They will be glad to make suggestions for the best restaurants, attractions and activities in the area; they will even make reservations on your behalf. Let them worry about the small details so that you can focus solely on your vacation.

North Lake Estates RV Resort, Lakeport

Tour North Lake Estates

The North Lake Estates resort in Moore Haven, nestled on the edge of Lake Okeechobee, is just for RVers age 55 and older. You will find this resort to be the perfect mix of relaxation and activity, as well as centrally located to plenty of tourist attractions (like Gatorama and the Billie Swamp Safari) and outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. The resort is also pet-friendly, so be sure and bring your four-legged friends along for the ride. You can take them to the dog park or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the lakeshore.

If you love being in the country this is your place. Fishing is your top priority this is your place. If dinning out, shopping or site seeing is your thing this is NOT you place.

@Jelowery13, RV LIFE Campgrounds

The resort offers RV site with full hook-ups, including 30/50-amp electricity, water, sewer and Wi-Fi. In addition, there is a patio and plenty of room for slide-outs and parking. There are also onsite showers and laundry facilities for your convenience. Enjoy a great meal at the covered pavilion or picnic area. Make new friends in the clubhouse, which has a library and game room.  Be sure and play a game of horseshoes or pickleball and join in on all the fabulous pre-planned activities.

Lake San Marino RV Resort, Naples

Amenities and activities are top-notch at Lake San Marino RV Resort in Naples. This pet-friendly park is popular with snowbird RVers age 55 and above.  Choose from a refreshing dip in the sparkling swimming pool (heated), a game of horseshoes, bocce ball, shuffleboard or pickleball, or an afternoon fishing in the onsite pond. Make new friends in the clubhouse, where you can enjoy the library, game room or join in on the planned activities. Your four-legged friends can run off excess energy in the designated pet area.

This park is packed but everyone is out and about and having fun! Our site had a large concrete pad – way too big for our 23 foot travel trailer but someone with a big bus or 5th wheel would love the space. Although the site is large, backing into it was a challenge because there are so many cars and trucks parked in front of the surrounding sites. We had fun playing shuffleboard and there was a concert and dance Saturday night for $15 a person.

@OurBigAdventure, RV LIFE Campgrounds

All sites include 20/30/50 amp electric, water and sewer hook-ups, Wi-Fi, a patio and a picnic table. The cozy back-in sites have grassy pads that can handle RVs up to 30 feet long (but can’t accommodate slide-outs). The standard (for RVs up to 42 feet long) and elite (for RVs up to 45 feet in length) back-in sites have concrete pads and plenty of room for slide-outs. On site, you will have access to restroom/shower area, laundry facilities and a mail center.

Sun Outdoors Key Largo (Formerly Riptide RV Resort & Marina)

Sun Outdoors Key Largo is a family-friendly resort

There is no shortage of scenic views in the Florida Keys, but it would be difficult to find better views than the ones you’ll find at Sun Outdoors Key Largo. This gorgeous RV Resort features boat docks (and a launch) as well as a private beach perfectly suited for swimming and snorkeling. The pet-friendly campground has a clubhouse, planned activities and a picnic area/covered pavilion.

Location, location, location is always the rule. We found this little tiny RV Resort, now under new management – Sun Outdoors, to be a good getaway location on the gulf side of Key Largo. It’s tight, real tight, but we managed to maneuver in without an issue, and they allowed us to park our tow dolly. There was no pool but a beach with EZ in and out of the water. They also have a boat ramp and massive cabana with seating and a grill on the water. We spent about all of our time on the water.

@Dave Kalahar, RV LIFE Campgrounds

Thirty-five back-in RV sites are located on the property. All sites include 30/50 amp electric, water and sewers hook-ups, as well as free cable and site-wide Wi-Fi. The spacious gravel sites are 35 feet long and allow plenty of room for slide-outs. For guests’ convenience, the property has restroom/shower and laundry facilities.

Traveling with friends and family without an RV? This resort has them covered with a motel and rental duplexes and cottages. With all the fun activities found in Key Largo, as well as nearby Key West and Miami, you may never want to leave this great Florida location.

Ocean Breeze RV Resort, Jensen Beach

South Florida’s Jensen Beach is home to Ocean Breeze Resort, which offers the best combination of convenience and natural beauty. Amenities at the 55-and-over campground include bathhouses and laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, Cable access, a poolside garden, a poolside picnic area with a rooftop deck and a clubhouse complete with billiards room.

Five years ago I discovered Ocean Breeze. I have been staying for six months since that time. Each year the resort seems to improve and is better than the last. You couldnt ask for a better group of people who staff this operation. The sites are immaculate and have great items like grills and picknic tables on a stone tile surface. All sites are full hookup with 50 Amp service which is a plus.

@Paul VanLandingham, RV LIFE Campgrounds

The pet-friendly campground has four RV site categories to choose from, and all of them come with Wi-Fi, electric, water and sewer hook-ups as well as a patio and picnic table.

  • Base: Back in sites that can handle RVs up to 40 feet long and slide-outs
  • Standard: Back in sites that accommodate RVs up to 45 feet long and slide-outs
  • Premium: Pull-through sites for RVs up to 50 feet long/slide-outs and a propane grill
  • Premium Corner: Back-in sites on gravel pads for RVs no more than 45 feet long

There are plenty of chances to be active, too. The park has a fitness center, basketball and bocce balls courts, horseshoes, hiking opportunities, saunas (wet and dry) and a swimming pool. You will have easy access to the Intracoastal Indian River, where you can enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming in the open water.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West

Key West boasts beautiful weather regardless of the month you visit. You can stay at one of the best resorts in the Keys when you choose Bluewater Key Resort as your basecamp. There are three categories of RV sites:

  • Tropical—located in the middle of the park
  • Bayfront—found on Lower Sugarloaf Sound (all sites have a private dock)
  • Canal—found on the Blue Canal (some have a private dock)

Fabulous place, everything first class, close to Key West, about 12 miles. Great laundry facilities. Did not use pool etc. Had a waterfront site with dock for boat. The bay there is shallow but we’re given map / directions of how to navigate to open water. Excellent service to back into site. Definitely a place to return to

@david mitchem, RV LIFE Campgrounds

Regardless of which site you choose, it will be beautifully landscaped with shrubs, tree and various tropical plants. Additionally, all sites are large (average 35 feet wide and at least 80 feet long) and have outdoor seating and Tiki Huts. Full hook-ups, with 30/50 amp electric, sewer, water, HD Cable and Wi-Fi are included at each site too.

The resort features additional amenities including two parks (one for dogs and one for kids), a temperature-controlled freshwater pool, recycling and trash collection (curbside), large laundry facility and clubhouse. Relax in a hammock and enjoy the sunset, view the Mangroves from a kayak or paddleboard or explore all that Key West has to offer.

Sanctuary RV Resort, Bonita Springs

See why snowbirds love Sanctuary RV Resort.

Halfway between Naples and Fort Myers, you will find Bonita Springs’ Sanctuary RV Resort. This peaceful resort has 185 RV sites spread over 35 acres, and all sites have full hook-ups (with 50 amp electric) and patios. You can choose from Supersites, Premium Pull-thrus, Standard Pull-thrus and standard back-in sites, as well as from tree-shaded sites or those with full sun exposure. Onsite, there is a heated pool, a couple of dog parks, an RV parts store, a café, a clubhouse (which has an activities room and hosts weekly events), bathhouse and temperature-controlled laundry facilities. You can also play a game of cornhole or pickleball.

Very nice park. Youre told that there is a u-turn to get not the park, but NO worries. It was easily done with our motorhome. Check in was a breeze. Our site was tricky to get into. Once parked the slab was paved and level. Connections all worked great. There are some OTA channels. We couldnt get the WIFI to stay connected for streaming so we used our hotspot. Water, sewer and electricity worked excellent. Pool area looked well maintained.

@Julie_Taylor_668, RV LIFE Campgrounds

Drive less than ten minutes and you will be standing on the white sand of Bonita Beach, which was voted one of America’s Top Ten Beaches. Baseball enthusiasts can watch many different major league teams have their spring training; golfers can play at their pick of numerous area courses. Nature lovers can visit the Everglades Wonder Gardens or spend a relaxing day fishing, while shoppers will love perusing the booths at the Flamingo Island Flea Market.

Naples RV Resort, Naples

The pet-friendly Sun Retreats Naples RV resort rounds out our list and strikes the perfect balance between being close to everything, but making you feel like you are worlds away from it all. Each of the sites, which include cable and Wi-Fi as well as electric, water and sewer hook-ups, are meticulously landscaped with gorgeous flowering shrubs and palm, pine, oak and cypress trees.  There are five categories of RV sites to choose from:

  • Standard Back-In Sites
  • Standard Pull-Thru Sites
  • Elite Pull-Thru Sites
  • Elite Back-in Sites
  • Cozy Back-in Sites

We stayed here for two weeks, in December. The resort is very clean and nicely maintained. Beautiful plants and greenery everywhere! The pool was very nice and warm, clean and not overly chlorinated. The bathrooms were nicely updated and really clean! Great water pressure and nice hot water! We had a great time and found everyone to be very nice and welcoming. Some permanent and seasonal residents which were really nice and organizing arts and crafts for the kids. Some of the spots were a little tight, but I guess that is valid everywhere. We would definitely stay here again.

@Iulia, RV LIFE Campgrounds

There are plenty of on-site activities to keep you busy without leaving the resort. Splash around in the large swimming pool, enjoy a game of pickleball, cornhole, shuffleboard, bocce ball or basketball, or relax and make new friends in the clubhouse. For convenience, there are onsite bathhouses and laundry facilities.

When you’re ready to venture out and explore, you will find plenty to do within minutes of the campground. You can explore all the Naples has to offer (be sure and visit the pier and the zoo), check out Marco Island, spend an afternoon at the Everglades, go dolphin watching or play a round of golf at one of the dozens in the area.
