This giant 92-acre park opened in the summer of 2022 and the RV LIFE Campgrounds community is loving it! Here’s why it’s already a popular vacation spot for locals and travelers alike.

Stillwater RV Resort is located at 11684 County Rd 3101, Winona, TX 75792. Winona is a fairly small city and it’s located between Tyler and Longview. If you’re willing to travel a little further to find a major city, Dallas is about an hour and a half away. You could easily take a day trip to the city to explore some of its impressive attractions.

However, this resort is located in a calm and quiet area. As mentioned previously, the park has 92 acres of space to enjoy so you can easily get your steps in without ever leaving its boundaries! Most of this real estate is dedicated to the 170 RV sites, but there’s also room for water attractions, extra parking, and wide open spaces where you can stretch out on the grass.

There are plenty of RV sites here and they can accommodate rigs of any shape and size. In addition, most sites come with full hookups. The electrical hookups can work for 20, 30, or 50 amps depending on what you need. However, there are a few spots that don’t offer a sewer hookup, so keep that in mind.

Because this is an new RV resort, the prices are on the higher side. However, they’re fairly reasonable when you consider the spacious parking spots and the wide variety of amenities. This park also offers lower rates during the fall and winter months, so you can get a discount if you want to brave four-season camping. As of Fall 2023, nightly rates ranged from $60 per night for a back-in full hookup site, to $88 for a premium waterfront deluxe site with all the amenities.

It’s an Affordable Winter Snowbird Destination, Too!

Stillwater has incredibly low winter rates, starting at just $499 a month for full hookups. From November 1st thru April 30th, guests can book RV camp sites with no limit on the duration of their stay. Stay for a week, a month, or the entire winter!

Most campgrounds provide essential amenities throughout your stay, such as bathrooms and potable water. But a resort like the Stillwater RV resort takes things to a new level. There’s a certain expectation of comfort and quality when you stay in a place like this. With that in mind, this destination was created to satisfy all your needs and wants.

Of course, the essentials are still taken care of here. Everyone has access to hookups for water and electricity, and most have a sewage connection as well. There are restrooms, bath houses, and laundry facilities to help you stay clean and comfortable.

Pets are also more than welcome here. This resort has a nice dog park, complete with plenty of poop bags and disposal areas. An outdoor dog washing station is also provided so you can clean your pup after a long day of adventuring.

A Lazy River, Water Obstacle Course, and Other Pool Activities

Another major focus of this resort is water activities! Everyone can choose the activity that best suits them. Those with a lot of energy will love the Wibit Lake obstacle course. This is full of inflatable games and slides that float on the surface. If you just want to relax and go with the flow, hop into the lazy river and circle round and round.

The island in the middle of the lazy river is home to a family pool and splashpad. The warm, shallow water is ideal for new swimmers. If you need a break from the kids, take a dip in the adult pool and swim-up bar. A variety of drinks are available on demand, and you can order delicious food as well.

All the water in the lazy river and pools is salt water, so you don’t need to worry about the itchiness of chlorine. Finally, the nearby cabanas provide plenty of shade and seating options so you can kick it poolside!

What to Do in and Near Winona and Tyler, Texas

There are lots of fun ways to spend your time at Stillwater RV Resort, but you can also explore the surrounding towns. Winona, Texas is home to attractions like Camp Ford, the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, and Azalea Residential Historic District. Thrill seekers might love Skydive East Texas as well!

Tyler is a slightly larger city that’s nearby and it has plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy as well. Spend a day at the Caldwell Zoo, learn something new at The Discovery Science Place, or enjoy the great outdoors at Tyler State Park.

There are also several dining options in this area. Although Dallas is a short drive away, you won’t have to travel to the big city to find a bite to eat.

What Kind of Reviews Does Stillwater RV Resort Get?

Finally, let’s take a look at some reviews for Stillwater RV Resort. This park opened in the summer of 2022, so it’s a littler over 1 year old now. A decent amount of reviews have come in since the grand opening, but we expect even more in the years to come.

Stillwater RV LIFE Campgrounds Review

Currently, the resort has a score of 7.8/10 by the RV LIFE Campgrounds community. Most reviews are in the good-excellent range, but there were a few lower ratings that dropped it down a bit. A lot of the feedback included positive and negative points.

For instance, many guests remarked that they had plenty of space to park. Others said that they really enjoyed the food and drinks that were available in the resort. Many complimented the friendly staff and the lovely location.

A few critiques showed up repeatedly though. Many visitors said that the lazy river was slower than they would like. There were also some issues with certain hookups, but these problems were usually fixed during the course of their visit. Although most sites had plenty of space, some guests complained of narrow roads and cramped parking. So it’s a mixed result on whether you’ll have enough space or not!

Overall, this RV campground in Texas has lots of potential. It’s in a nice area and it has plenty of amenities to satisfy every guest.
